Choosing Canon Powershot Cameras is one of your right step. This is the ultimate feature-packed compact digital cameras. Canon PowerShot Digital Cameras series is specially designed to be an affordable yet powerful compact camera .
Optical Technology
Every PowerShot cameras has one: a genuine Canon lens. Over 70 years of innovation in Canon optics technology has secured the loyalty of professional photographers worldwide and inspired generations of remarkable images.
Optical Image Stabilizer
Camera shake often blurs images in low light and at long focal lengths. Canon’s Optical Image Stabilizer Technology corrects cameras shake so you can achieve excellent quality images in many difficult situations : outdoors at dusk, inside without a flash, even at the end of the zoom range without a tripod. The sophisticated system detects camera shake and optically counters the movement, effectively canceling unwanted lens movement and vibration.
UA Lens
The UA lens is a Canon exclusive: a glass-molded aspherical lens with an ultra-high refractive index that delivers incredibly bright, clear shots.
With innovative Canon optical technology, a slim and compact PowerShot cameras can be equipped with a 28mm wide-angle lens to deliver all the expansiveness and sense of distance you can only achieve with wide-angle shots
DIGIC Image Processor
Renowned for their superior picture quality, responsive handling, extended battery life and fast processing speed, DIGIC Image Processors have set the standard for functionality and performance since their ground-breaking introduction in 1999. DIGIC III brought advanced technologies to PowerShot cameras for even more brilliant color, smooth gradations, fast and responsive performance, and Face Detection feature that finds, focuses and properly exposes faces.
Noise Reduction
Experienced photographers know that high ISO speeds can coincide with increased levels of noise: aberrant or stray signals that degrade image quality. With Canon’s exclusive DIGIC Image Processor, there is no need for compromise. DIGIC offers a major boost in noise reduction signal processing to compensate for the higher ISO settings it enables.
iSAPS Technology
PowerShot cameras automatically find the optimal settings for Autofocus, Auto Exposure and Auto White Balance systems using iSAPS (Intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) technology. RAW Mode
PowerShot G10 can handle full-scale RAW development utilizing Canon’s own Digital Photo Professional (DPP), the same RAW development software used by Canon’s EOS models. DPP software also handles all browsing, editing and printing for the camera, as well as display, editing and printing of JPEG images.

Canon Powershot G10 Digital Cameras comes with all kinds of built-in scene settings (snow, night snapshots, sunsets, underwater, etc.), most of which I haven’t yet found that helpful. I did get a couple of fun foliage shots using the sunset and foliage settings, but in both cases I could’ve gotten the same results simply tweaking in Photoshop afterward.
